You do not need to buy more things
Most of the plan is moving what you already have. The box, a bowl, a piece of furniture. The one item you may need to add costs about what the cleaner did.

Enzyme cleaner. Maybe a second litter box. Foil on the sofa, a citrus spray, a vet visit that came back clean. The corner still smells.
Here is what almost nobody tells you. There are two different problems, and they look exactly the same on your floor. One is marking. One is trouble with the litter box. They need opposite fixes, and most of what you have bought only works on one of them.
What set it off
A baby. A move. A new pet or a new roommate. A door that now stays shut. A week where you were suddenly never in.
The plan asks what changed and builds the order of your list from your answer. If the litter box got moved when the new furniture came in, that goes to the top.
Why nothing has worked
Cleaner, foil, citrus spray and deterrents all say the same thing: this spot is unpleasant now.
But if it is marking, she is not looking for somewhere convenient to go. She is leaving scent. Make one spot unpleasant and she moves one step over, which is exactly what has been happening.
The fix is not to block the spot. It is to let her do the same job there another way. That takes one object and about 2 minutes, and it is the part almost nobody writes about.
What it is
You tell it where the spot was, whether it was upright or flat, and what changed at home. It sorts your spots into the two problems, ranks the likely cause from what you told it, and hands you an ordered list.
Three things tonight. The rest can wait until the weekend. One line for what to stop buying.
What this costs, and what it saves
Most of the plan is moving what you already have. The box, a bowl, a piece of furniture. The one item you may need to add costs about what the cleaner did.
A remote session with a cat behavior consultant runs into the hundreds. One I looked up lists $325 for 90 minutes and $445 to come to the house.
Card 12 tells you when, with three questions to ask before you book anyone. This is the step before that.
Blood in the urine. Going to the box again and again and passing only a few drops. Crying or straining while peeing. A male cat who cannot pass urine at all.
That is an emergency and it needs a vet tonight, not a plan. The deck asks these four on its first card, before anything else. Answer yes to any of them and it stops, tells you to call, and we refund you. Email hello@yilumeworlds.com and you do not need to explain.
Where the numbers come from
The way it separates marking from litter box trouble comes from veterinary behavior guidelines: upright or flat, standing or squatting, small or normal volume, and whether the box is still being used the rest of the time.
Two litter box figures come from published preference studies. In one, 70% of 27 cats had no preference between covered and uncovered boxes. In another, 74 cats across 43 households used a large box 61% of the time against 39% for a standard one.
One thing in it is not from a guideline. Putting a scratching pad against the spot is what worked in my own house, and it says so where it appears.
There are no promised timelines anywhere in it. How long this takes depends on the cat, on what set it off, and on how completely the changes get made. The tracker is how you tell whether it is working instead.
